DS, 8.5 months has started throwing up this evening. Feels a little hotter than usual, but no temperature, but has thrown up 3 times since 6pm, once when was the whole contents of his tummy (dinner and milk), which sometimes happens when he hasn´t burped properly when he´s having his milk, so that didn´t set of the alarm bells by itself iyswim. However, threw up again in his bed, very unusual and is now throwing up bile and getting very upset about it. tried water, but that came up too, so now starting to worry. Tried out of hours doctor but no one has got back to me yet. He´s got a cough, which seems to trigger the vomiting, but other than that, he seems fine...

Anyone got some advice please???

I advise parents to go straight to the A&E Dept.

Don't want to worry you, but that is my professional advice.

i was gonna say that too. NHS Direct might help but tbh i think they'd tell you the same!

Poor little one+

Sounds like a bug unless he has a temperature rash etc. Keep offering water or dioralyte in small sips or off a teaspoon and prop the cot up at an angle using books or low stools. dd had a bug like this last week , lasted about a day and a half, but she is older so more resilient. If you are worried or he shows sugns of dehydration or worsens, call out of hours gp or NHS direct.

how is he today ?

chocolatequeen · 02/08/2006 12:29

Hi LIZS, thanks for your concern.

He´s still poorly, took him to a and e in the night after talking to paediatrician when he showed no improvement. they checked him, said he was ok, well hydrated and not feverish so to do basically exactly what you´ve said here!! Thanks all for your advice, I love mumsnet!!!

Back to amusing a bored 3 year old and cleaning vomity sheets. Bloody glamourous.

Thanks again, will be back if I get worried!!
