Mirena coil - how long did you bleed after insertion?

I'm into my 4th week! It's mainly only when I wipe but I still have to wear a pad as a little bit sometimes leaks out. It ranges from a decent amount of red mucousy blood (sorry!) to a trace of pinky brown and back again! I keep thinking its stopped but then it starts again. The leaflet says some spotting is common but does sound ok??

About 3 or 4 months. It was horrid, you have my sympathy .

I've had mine for 2 years now, and still get a period every month but it is manageable, although not just a few days spotting like many women get. I got Mirena for very heavy periods and it is much better than before, which was making me anaemic.
