marthamoo · 31/07/2006 12:34

And from me too.

Kiskidee · 31/07/2006 12:36

to my knowledge, malaria is ususally a cycle of fever and chills with quite higher fever and pronounced chills. not a constantly running fever. also the nauseousness are quite pronounced. i've never had malaria myself but know of a few who have. doesn't sound like malaria too me but could be wrong.

Blandmum · 31/07/2006 12:39

Thanks. He has a mild fever, and malaria has to be excluded. I'm hoping that this is just a GI bug.

Poor bloke he is feeling ill and I'm panicing like a maniac. His medical history doesn't help me in that respect

My uncle from Kerala got malaria whilst working in Africa and he didn't just have 'tummy upset'. He was so nauseous he couldn't move about and his temp spiked in hospital at 105 degrees. VERY scary. Although he made it w/only one long-lasting effect - his right hand goes on pins and needles quite often. No real explanation for this other than his nerves may have been affected by the fever.

So here's hoping your DH doesn't have it!

Spagblog · 31/07/2006 12:40

Oh god, how stressful. How is he feeling? Is he up to going on holiday?

Blandmum · 31/07/2006 12:41

stressful is the word!

He isn't 100% well, but would feel up to going as long as we take things easy
