at the beginning of the week dd2 had a high temp and was sick slightly. now she has come out with a rash all over her back and chest. do chicken pox start with heads straight away, as these dont have them, just a slightly raised rash, not spotty really.

Could you ring NHS Direct? Or your GP? Could just be a viral rash with the high temp etc. My two are very prone to rashes when they are poorly.

If you look in the mouth at [the first twenty-four to forty-eight hours of the invasion] you will see a redness of the fauces; perhaps, not in all cases, a few spots on the soft palate. On the buccal mucous membrane and the inside of the lips, you will invariably see?small irregular spots, of a bright red color. In the centre of each spot, there is noted, in strong daylight, a minute bluish white speck. These?are absolutely pathognomonic of beginning measles.

Hope its not... could be like marthamoo said just a viral rash...

she wont let me look in her mouth, madam that she is. probably just viral rash, but the rash is getting brighter. she has been off her food, and very sleepy, but seems to be picking up atm.
