Anyone else going bonkers on high dose steroids just now?

Can't sleep and am madly hyper.

I need someone to switch me to "quiet" setting for a bit.

Morning giraffes, did you manage any sleep in the end?

What dose are you on? I'm on 30mg, not doing too badly for sleeping now but I'm going bloody bananas with hunger most days... Anything and everything turns into foodstuffs before my eyes!

Hiya Sunday in to Monday I had literally NO sleep, was a awake all night.

Did a full day at work, then didn't fall asleep unil 2am!

I fell asleep tonight 9-2am and will hopefully go back again soon.

Pred is amazing but annoying. Am on 40mg, but only took 5 tabs today...so 25mg. Just because I needed to be able to sleep - supposed to be in court tomorrow so wanted to make sure I could rest. It has been cancelled though.

How long you been omn them?

Hi Giraffes, really hope you manage to get some sleep. Pred makes me feel great but it's side effects are horrible. I'm at the other end of the spectrum and am weaning off them. I'm finding it so difficult and feel pretty dreadful. I'm so tempted to up my dose again but know that I will have to go through the same withdrawal again.
Noëlof - I'm finding that my hunger is worse coming off them, I'm starving now and it's 3am!

I'd split the dose and take 20mg on waking (assuming you've slept!! - First thing is what I mean. And then the second 20mg no later than midday/lunchtime. Cannot take them anywhere near approaching the evening otherwise sleep is shot

Hi Giraffes! I have been on pred for 6 months (25mg tapering to 12.5). STILL can't sleep even though have lowered the dosage. I average 3-4 hours a night.

My doc has prescribed me an antihistamine that is non-addictive and makes you drowsy ( will look at the name when I get home in case you want to ask for them). She put me on too high a dose at first so felt like I had been given a horse tranquilizer so now I am taking 10mg a night and they are helping. Finally getting 6-7 hours sleep!

Hello Noel! Just seen you are on 30mg (in answer to my question on Sar thread)

I've given up on sleeping more than two hours a night. Have been on high dose of pred for too long, but it's either that or be constantly in hospital.

I'm now on 40mg, but can go up to 60 mg when needed. Would love to wean down, but get serious problems on anything lower than 25mg.

I'm sure I'm nocturnal!!!
