Anyone recognise these symptoms, swollen glands in throat

Hi wondering if anyone has any ideas about the illness I have had for the last month? About 5 weeks ago I felt as if the glands in my throat were up. My daughter had a cough and I thought I was coming down with something. I took a lot of supplements echinacea etc and held it off but kept feeling on the cusp of getting ill, tired, achy, swollen glands. Over Christmas the lack of sleep caused the symptoms to worsen with ulcers in the back of my throat, increased swelling in the glands and also glandular pain under one arm plus a runny nose and tickly cough. Feeling exhausted and wiped out but no fever. The gp gave me a course of antibiotics which seems to help a bit but I finished those a week ago and am still unwell. The cold symptoms have gone but I still have the feeling of swelling in my throat and pains in throat and am incredibly tired and headachy. The pains in my throat seem to move around, sometimes going into my ears or the back of my neck. Blood tests for white cell count, glandular fever and thyroid function all came back negative. I am waiting for an appointment at ENT but am really worried. This has come at the end of a very stressful year following the death of a close relative. I am usually an incredibly busy working mum of 3 but am now finding myself in bed all weekend and from 8pm just to be able to cope the next day. Any suggestions to what could be going on would be much appreciated.

Tonsillitis can cause white or yellow spots on the tonsils and is often viral (in which case it would not respond to antibiotics). I had tonsillitis once when I was very run down and it took a long time to recover. I was exhausted all the time. So I would try not to worry while you wait for the ENT appointment (easier said than done, I know) but it might not be anything serious, you could just need time and lots of rest to get better. I hope you feel better soon.
