Should I see the GP about this? - very painful cough and difficulty breathing

Third day of this virus - have usual cold symptoms (blocked and runny nose, headache, sore throat, temp etc), but over the last 2 days I've developed the worst cough I've ever had - its so painful to cough, my throat is raw, coughing up yellowy/green mucas and having difficulty breathing with ease.

My chest and lungs feel sore and I can't get any relief.

I'm also Breastfeeding so only taking paracetamol.

Does this sound normal or should see my GP?

Definitely make sure you see a GP tomorrow. It sounds like you need antibiotics. Hope you feel better soon.

Could be an infection. Difficulty breathing is the bit that would get me to see the GP. I think you should see someone in the morning if you can.

I had something similar for a couple of weeks in October and it turned out to be pneumonia and I spent a week in hospitalSad I couldn't get a GP appt or it may not have gotten do bad.

Get to the GP tomorrow I say! Smile

So many people seem to have this virus....my DD had it and was in hospital for 4 days, on oxygen for 2 of them. Was awful. She needed antibiotics, hourly nebulisers and as I mentioned, 2 days on oxygen. Look after yourself OP
