Private healthcare options in Yorkshire

My MIL is very ill with stomach pain - not poisoning or food related - she says it feels like bruises inside and out. She's from a different country and NHS isn't an option for her. She's been to the doctor before with this, in her home country, but they've not found anything. Now she's here with us, visiting, and is ill again.

Can anyone recommend good private healthcare options? Or advice on how to go about selecting one (what to pay attention to, which questions to ask etc).

I googled it up and it shows:

Are these viable options? Any other ones in Yorkshire? Which one to choose? Thanks.

I would start with a private GP - then they can sort out referrals etc if needed. Looks like there is a service at the Nuffield Health as described, or loads more on google. Make sure they understand you are self-funding though.

I can recommend Spire near Halifax/Huddersfield. It was the only hospital anywhere near me that would admit me for diagnostic tests (acute admission). The other private hospitals in this area were more for pre-booked surgery.

I was allocated a specialist doctor who oversaw my care and then provided all aftercare at his private consulting rooms. (we self referred, my husband called their admissions manager and I was transferred in very quickly)

I was very happy with the care I received, I had already spent 17 in an nhs hospital and on top of suffering from septaecemia I was also suffering from malnutrition and severe dehydration. (I hadn't received a meal in 17 days).

I had follow up surgery at the same hospital by the same consultant and the level of care was excellent.

Thank you uggmum - that's really helpful - any chance you could drop me the name of the doctor in a PM?

Will do. He removed my gallbladder and specialises in bariatric surgery so he will probably be a good choice.
