What sort of heart op? Ablation? I've had two and a friend of mine had 4 before he got it sorted

fostermum · 26/07/2006 15:12

ive had one heart valve replaced and a triple by-pass but this has put pressure on the other valves and they have packed up,i had an emergancy op xmas eve to unblock the one they already had done, but now they say i must have the other valves done,or i will only last about 3 years, but if i do have it done theres a large chance i wont make it through the operation

How rotten for you, and only you can decide BUT remember that when medics talk about 'large chance you won't make it', they always are ultra pesimistic. They apparently need to keep their figures looking good, so even 5% is bad for them. Not trying to underestimate what you must be going thru' though - just hope you've got some good support.
