Why is there suddenly so much wrong with me??

I feel like someone's sticking pins in my effigy somewhere.

I went from a normal, fit 51 year old in the summer to having, in quick succession, the following conditions: DVT, pulmonary embolism, fatigue, suspected endometrial cancer, a spectacular flare up of psoriasis, and now, today, a bloody painful corneal ulcer.

Why? Just why? Have I got Bloodybackluckitis or what? People at work probably think I'm making it all up like some kind of munchausenesque Walter Mitty.

Answers please on a postcard.

Unlucky83, thank you so much for that information. I have never heard of your condition, but it does sound, from what you and Kitten have said, that there could actually he a connection.

I might have a Google.

you're welcome Grin

i like it when they say 'you might feel some pressure'

too fucking right i feel pressure, lying here, fanny akimbo and you're about to shove a duck billed platypus up my chuff Shock

Ledkr · 08/01/2014 19:56

No liney I was still dressed!
I'm a bit phobic about that sort of thing, I can only just manage a smear test!
Don't forget that a few hundred years ago 40 was old age Grin

Ledkr · 08/01/2014 20:01

Yes they fuckkng lie a lot.
This last op was a disgrace to the NHs.
It was sold to me as "a keyhole day case"
I was wheeled into the car park at 8 o clock in the storm still sedated and endured a painful half hour journey home whilst vomming into a paper hat.
Was then semi concious and in agony for a whole weekend while my poor family tried their best to look after me.
Terrible really.

When I had my first biopsy a couple of months ago I had it without any anaesthetic at all. When I staggered out of the treatment room there were all these anxious looking women waiting there with their partners, so I said to OH breezily, 'Goodness, that was fine, piece of cake, didn't feel a thing.'

When we got outside I had one of his roll-ups, the first in ten years!

TheLeastAccomplishedBennetGirl · 08/01/2014 20:03

these were my eyes after my biopsy

Biscuit Biscuit

luckily DH was able to come with me, i was in shock afterwards too!

LineRunner · 08/01/2014 20:06

Ffs, Ledkr, what did they do to you??!

OP posts:
Ledkr · 08/01/2014 20:12

I've got brca2 gene. Already had breast cancer at 26 so decided not to leave ovarys to chance now I've finished with them so had them out with Fallopian tubes.
I would stil have had it but maybe a short stay in hospital would be more appropriate.
Certainly didn't feel ready to go home!

TheLeastAccomplishedBennetGirl · 08/01/2014 20:14

farking hell, Ledkr

i suppose once they agreed to keyhole surgery they'd planned for your bed to be empty after the shortest time

but still, things can change, surely?

LineRunner · 08/01/2014 20:16

Crikey, yes, a couple of days in hospital at least I would have thought.

My teenage kids are already upset enough with all the stuff going on, without having to deal with something like that. It's distressing for them seeing me in pain.

OP posts:
Ledkr · 08/01/2014 20:20

Yes I thought it wasn't great for kids either.
It seems varied as to stays in hospital for this procedure. Sine are in for days and. Catheterised.
I was up walking to the loo a few hours later.
Trust me I don't want to stay in unnecessarily but jayze!
That thing sounds worth checking out liney
Might be the answer.
We do take our health fir granted don't we?

unlucky83 · 08/01/2014 20:21

No Problems Line - don't know about a google - might make you worried Confused-
Better go and have a word with your GP (and make a fuss if you feel like they aren't listening) - did they never tell you what caused your DVT?
Good Luck anyway - like someone else said this might be all your ill health for your life crammed into a year...I hope so!

Ledkr · 08/01/2014 20:21

Remember the ladies having gynae ops used to be off work for months didn't they?
In hospital for bloody weeks!

Ledkr · 08/01/2014 20:22

I was in better health when I drank too much and smoked!!

LineRunner · 08/01/2014 20:30

Unlucky83, I know what you mean about Google - bloody terrifying!

My DVT is simply listed as cause unknown.

If you are interested in diet as therapy have you seen the whole 30 website? I have several auto immune conditions and last year found this way of eating. Initially did the whole 30 and the relief in symptoms was amazing. Maybe worth a look. They also have a specific auto immune protocol which is much stricter which I haven't tried as the main one worked wonders for me. Hope you feel better soon. I liked reading other peoples stories which made me feel I wasn't alone.

LineRunner · 08/01/2014 20:36

MissSmiley, no I haven't seen it but will certainly take a look.

OH bought me some bananas today which he thinks will help, bless him.

OP posts:
TheLeastAccomplishedBennetGirl · 08/01/2014 20:38

Womnaleplus · 08/01/2014 20:54

Great, I was coming in to recommend the Whole30 thing as well - definitely worth a look.

LineRunner · 08/01/2014 20:56
