Thyroid- other symptoms concern me- any advice?

I am in my 40s , very robust generally. I went to GP recently with a clicking noise in my throat. The GP dismissed it as nothing but ran blood tests. All normal save the Thyroid levels indicated I have an under active Thyroid and I am now on thyroxine.

I have also had a feeling of something 'stuck' in the back if my nose for about the same time as I have had the clicking- about 3 months.

The doctor is sending me for a scan in the Thyroid which I am waiting for an appointment for- but I'm starting to get a bit anxious about it all- can anyone offer any advice/ had similar? I am a bit of a worried well kind of person I think.

Is the clicking a sinus problem?
The scan on the thyroid is probably to look for swelling, common with underactive thyroid, and to look at your nodules.
I had an ultrasound for all that, thyroid inflamed, but nothing else untoward.

Ah I see. Thanks for the response- I don't think sinusy as click is in my throat not nose.

Ask to be referred to a specialist OP. I find gp's useless re thyroid.

I might do thanks Filthy. I have BUPA cover so can use that. I am just worried in case it is something more sinister :(

Ok. I could have recommended a doc but not in Manc Smile

Good luck! I would await those results and then take it from there.
