Is there anything DD & I need to know about having a brace removed?

It's being removed because it keeps failing (the blocks fall off - often within minutes of leaving the chair, never mind the practise)

The orthodontist has said that if any more blocks came off it would be removed & blocks have come off

So, she is seeing her own dentist next, then a couple of weeks later it comes off

Do we need to watch for anything or be careful cleaning afterwards or anything?

Take paracetamol before you go as can ache. The orthodontist should tell you about cleaning - especially if you have a retainer. DDs was removable but DS had a fixed retainer wired in behind his teeth - will stay in until he stops growing.

No the orthodontist is abandoning the treatment so no retainer

But I'll make sure she has paracetamol in case it hurts

It's been a nightmare

Good luck :)

Thanks - the whole thing has been a bit of a disaster & as DD 'leaves school' next July I'm not even sure we can try again on the NHS
