my poor little love. she has been burning up on and off for 2 days. i have been giving calpol but her temp is spiking back up before the next dose is due, so am going out for some nurofen for her in a bit. she has had a cool bath, we have used the fan and is currently dressed in short dungerees and a light t-shirt to keep her cool. she is a bit grouchy, was a little bit sick last night but she isnt really ill, with a temp like this (dont have a thermomiter but she feels burning hot) i'd expect her to be really sick.

hI MISDEE my 4 yr old DS has had the same thing for 4 days but his tempremant ans mood has been much better the past 2 days also 2 of his school mates have had the same thing. One of this is a son of two doctors and they all say its a virus. Try not to worry its exactly the same feel like you could fry an egg on her back right? Calpol only brings it down a bit? hopefully it will pass in a couple of days, keep your spirtits up?

Misdee, my DD (3) was like this over the weekend and devloped a viral rash over her body and face. SHe was very hot and listless and off her food but v little sickness and no diarrhoea. We did our best to keep her temp. down and monitored the rash and it went of its own acord by Monday. Might not be the same thing but HTH

she is off her food but has been drinking water. her skin feels papery, it dries out when she is ill. and yes i could fry an egg on her back. waiting for dh to get up so can go out for nurofen as dont want to take her out. no viral rash yet, but she is snoozing atm which is very unusual for her.

DD2 was like this on Friday/Saturday - very high temp. and sickness. DS1 suffered same on Sunday/Monday. Temps have gone completely now but DD2 is off nursery with impetigo and DS1 is off school with tonsillitus.

I would say just carry on as you're doing - although make sure you don't direct the fan directly onto her. When DD1 was in hospital, I was told not to place the fan towards her as it makes the body feel cold, therefore it tries to warm itself up again.

Hope she feels better soon

we just have the fan going in her room, constantly moving, dirented slightly above her bed level so not directly on her.
