Bunged up ears - Anyone used over the counter medicines? All answers need to be shouted!

I've had bunged up ears for a week now. Was bliss on Christmas day when kids failed to wake me up and house guests were up with them from 6.00 am! It's starting to piss me off now.

I saw the doc on 23rd and she said it was compacted wax and to put warm olive oil in, and it would just come out. One ear has now cleared, but the other is worse than ever and I have no hearing in it. Also it's quite uncomfortable and it feels like the pressure is building. It's not itchy and I don't think it's infected.

I've read online about hydrogen peroxide, and I know there are OTC medicines available. Has anyone tried them? Are they any better than olive oil?

I'm really fed up now. It's like being underwater. I keep going a bit dizzy when I've been lying down for a while, and feeling a bit sick.

There's a product called Otex Express which I bought for dd over the counter. She had very poor hearing due to wax build up and it worked really well. She said it fizzed in her ears !!

Hope that helps.
