Does anyone else find they look and feel really bad when they've got their period?

I recently stopped taking the combined pill and I am shocked at how awful I look when I've got my period. I look at myself and think 'what on earth has happened to my face' and then when the period is finished I look normal again. I also get a load of pre-menstrual symptoms that I don't remember.

I am actually thinking of going back on the pill again just to avoid this. Does anyone else notice the same thing?

Oh and also I feel horrible and really tired.

I am the other way around. In the week before my period I look and feel awful but as soon as I start then I instantly feel better and start to look better by the next day.

I've noticed this. I can literally tell when I'm ovulating because I look my best! Then for a week before my period I start to go downhill. Then once it's started I'm on the up again. I think it's to do with attracting men when we are most fertile!

Was on the pill for 15 years so this is a new thing for me.

I seem to have forgotten this aspect of it. It's very unpleasant. The pill has it's own side effects though, like headaches.
