anyones ds had a hernia operation

My DT1 has to have an op next month and I was wondering what the recovery time was.we plan to go on holiday 6 days later.will he manage that?

He will be fine - recovery is very quick, a day or two as far as I can remember (3 of my kids have had this op, one as a baby, the others at 5 and 7).

I had op when I was 7 for umbilical hernia was kept in for 2 days after but was fine afterwards.

Sure he'll be fine, DS had two, one at 4 weeks and one at 4 years and he just had to keep quiet for a couple of days. Assume you're not going to middle of sahara or anywhere without any sanitation!

my little brther had one when he was about 2/3 and i dont think it hased hi at all.
i think he will be fine to go away, just keep any stitches clean.
