hello i posted a while ago saying that the calcium levels in my blood were raised.
Well i went to see my GP this week and she said its the CA125 levels in my blood which are raised and that is why she has referred me for a scan.

My CA125 level is in the 80,s my sisters was 2000 when her cancer was diagnosed and the GP doesnt think it is cancer but could be something else, but what?
She didnt say.
I have been on the net looking up this CA125 thing and all i can find is ovarian cancer and im starting to feel a bit freaked out.

Does anyone know anything about this as my mind is putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 100, i feel scared.

Stop googling.

Although "There are many other causes for raised CA125 levels such as ovulation, menstruation, endometriosis, fibroids or benign ovarian cysts. Illnesses such as liver or kidney disease can also cause a raised CA125. For these reasons, a CA125 test alone can not be used to diagnose ovarian cancer. A CA125 test is more helpful in diagnosing ovarian cancer in post-menopausal women than in pre-menopausal women."

"It can be raised in a variety of other conditions. For example, endometriosis, fibroids, pelvic inflammatory disease or even pregnancy."
