It's the end of term and mid December - to be very honest I'd be amazed if there is anywhere in the northern hemisphere that DOESN'T have coughs, colds, flu and tummy bugs going round!!

goldie81 · 18/12/2013 20:54

Every year on lead up to Christmas there's loads that goes round school. I usually fight it off till Christmas & then on the day itself I'm poorly!

starofbethlehemfishmummy · 18/12/2013 20:56

Yep. Ds is off school. I am on week three, dh has it....

coffeeinbed · 18/12/2013 21:32

I have a cold. sore throat and wooly head.
And I had the flu jab...

LittleNoona · 18/12/2013 21:33

Yep lots of tonsillitis according to my Gp when I took dd today - for tonsillitis!

OhYouMerryLittleKitten · 18/12/2013 21:36

I habs a cold :( and its making me so stupid and dim witted that I'm sure it's brains leaking out of my nose rather than snot.

coffeeinbed · 18/12/2013 21:37

I feel stuffed - sorry!!- not even snotty.
Snotty would be a blessing. It feels I'm breathing glass shards.
Fuck.

TheBitchesOfWeestick · 18/12/2013 21:41

Shivering under a blanket right now :(

I've got Wine
I thought "Sod it!. It's horrid anyway"
I'll be sorry tomorrow.

coppertop · 18/12/2013 21:55

Ds1 very kindly brought a cold home from school to share with the rest of us. We've all got variations of coughing, sneezing, and stuffy heads.

All except for ds1, who has informed me that he feels much better now.

Grrrrr!

coffeeinbed · 18/12/2013 22:01

I got it from a woman on the train who kept coughing and sneezing in my face even though I tried to use the Metro as a shield.
Serves me right for not reading a broadsheet.

OhYouMerryLittleKitten · 18/12/2013 22:19

I think I might be a bit sorry tomorrow too! Am using otrivine and sudafed which does help a little with the 'my face is going to explode' feeling.

3bunnies · 18/12/2013 22:23

We don't have them going around as much as moving in and living with us. Might start charging them rent if they hang around much longer!

normalishdude · 19/12/2013 09:34

ahtishooo! What a sorry bunch we are. :0)

Yes! We are in Scotland and DH and I have had rotten colds which we can't shake off. I have been sneezing constantly and my pelvic floor is not happy. Had really dry eyes and a dry cough at night which has stopped me sleeping. Bleurrrrgh.

coffeeinbed · 19/12/2013 10:16

Can almost breathe today!!!
Thank heavens and Sudafed for small mercies.

OhYouMerryLittleKitten · 19/12/2013 10:30

hooray coffeeinbed :) there is hope for us all!

Littlemissred - have you tried codeine for your cough or an antihistamine if its a tickly one?

I keep telling myself Im lucky cos hopefully it will be gone by Christmas but I've not had a cold all autumn so why couldnt I just not get one at all?

noddyholder · 20/12/2013 17:36

I felt dreadful at lunchtime today so cold and shaking and I put loads of jumpers on turned the heat on and lay under a blanket and slept. Now I am boiling with a sore throat and can't cool down and keep coughing I am up and about but shaky Does anyone else have this and am I likely to be better tomorrow?

noddyholder · 20/12/2013 17:36

Muscles aching everywhere too tops of legs even my toes

OhYouMerryLittleKitten · 20/12/2013 17:54

that sounds quite flu like noddy :(

I've holed up today and taken things easy which has been good to be able to do but sudafed doesnt work :( and I've developed ulcers across the roof of my mouth. weird.

coffeeinbed · 20/12/2013 18:04

Noddy, I was about to say that might be the flu as well. The muscle aches and shivering are flu symptoms.
I still have the occasional residual cough but am fine now..
It's been exactly one week since it started.
You're almost there Kitten should be getting better now.

TheBitchesOfWeestick · 22/12/2013 00:30

Think I might have had tonsillitis - big sore tonsils, fever, shivering, muscle and joint pain, even more knackered than usual etc. all through Wednesday and Thursday. Felt well enough on Friday to go out for Christmas meal with friends and seem to have killed it with wine...should really be in bed though.

lazydog · 22/12/2013 05:21

Loads of flu type symptoms out here, too, and we live in a tiny village, 3.5hrs from the nearest city, in the BC Rockies. I agree with justmuddlingalongsomehow's assessment: Nowhere is safe! Grin

OhYouMerryLittleKitten · 22/12/2013 09:11

I finally feel a bit better :)
The only way is UP, yeah baby.
