Craving the smell of petrol and chemicals!

I'm 42 and definitely not pregnant! We get newly printed newspapers delivered that smell really chemically and I sit with the pages over my nose and breathe in the lovely smell. Also nail varnish and remover and tippex.

Just now I had to go out to my car and undo the petrol cap so I could have a sniff!
I'm getting a bit worried, it's not normal is it? Could I be deficient in something (other than brain cells lol!)?

It sounds as though you have accidentally started to become addicted to solvents. Some info here.

You should stop doing this - if you find you can't (or don't want to) get some professional help.

I get this when I'm pregnant, but it's when I'm iron deficient so could be worth checking your iron levels?

Ooh, I posted this morning on a thread about my penchant for sniffing old tins of shoe polish!

I love the smell of hot tar too, and exhaust fumes, but they are not so easy to come by around the house Grin.

I go into overdrive for them when pregnant, but I remember loving the smells even as a child.

It hasn't killed me yet, so can't be too dreadful.
