Weird buzzing feeling in my undercarriage - wtf is it?!

For the last week or so I have had a really odd buzzing feeling in my lady parts vulva and I haven't a clue what it is! I cycle every day to work (seven miles each way) and was wondering whether maybe it is to do with that?

I am getting it a few times a day at random times. It is not a sexy feeling, just bizarre! Like having a mobile phone near to it or something. I googled it and some people said it was neurological but it seems a bit of an odd neurological disorder as it is in such a weird place.

It is not arousing or painful, just annoying really! Any ideas? It literally just started out of nowhere.

Not lost your rabbit?

ArtisanLentilWeaver · 11/12/2013 22:38

Have you squished the fanjo nerves on your bike seat?

trainersandcake · 11/12/2013 22:43

Defo not a lost rabbit Viva!

Artisan I wonder if I have gone a bit fast over a pot hole or something and I can't ask any other cyclists IRL as the only ones I know are workmates. And it doesn't hurt so not worth a doctor's visit really!

Oh god, I hate to say it but I had the same and then developed a couple of blood blisters not long after. All I can say is if this happens, don't pop 'em - to avoid a re-enactment of Carrie, or similar. Mine was from riding a bike too.

ArtisanLentilWeaver · 11/12/2013 23:01

I'm convinced it might be a nerve thing. I had this after cycling a stupidly long distance in Holland. The Dutch call it 'saddle pain' but it is like a rabbit on overdrive.
Try a gel saddle or one of those huge luxury saddles. or get the bus for a few days

MrsHoolie · 11/12/2013 23:02

I have had this. It hasn't happened for months now though.
I kept checking if my phone was in my pocket as it was exactly like you described!
I haven't ridden a bike since I was a kid though.

I had a vibrating womb a while back just like a mobile phone. I posted about it and quite a few people said they had had it too.
It wore off after about 2 weeks.

Kikithecat · 12/12/2013 08:29

I've had it too from time to time - I rarely cycle though. It it short-lived. No idea why it happens, but I'm glad to see I'm not the only one!

Gosh, how strange! One of my work colleagues was just telling me about exactly the same thing the other day. She has it.

honeybee66 · 13/12/2013 00:49

Yep I had it. Its weird. It went away on its own.

varigatedivy · 13/12/2013 08:54

It's def due to pressure on the pudendal nerves.

I get it if I've sat at the pc too long.

It will go away.

Cyclist here, but I am male. Any changes to the bike set up, or indeed shorts. You could have hit a pot hole hard.

Don't forget overly padded gel saddles can cause problems as your sit bones should contact the saddle, not your soft bits.
