hi
my dd seems to have a rash which flares up directly below the eyes. in the chemist yesterday they said becuase its so close to the eyes to use only a water based ointment. it calmed last night but now this morn its red again.

i am trying to put it down to something and one thing is cows milk, as when she gets it to drink (mixed with formula or water) she gets constipation.

anyone any experience.
its not scaly yet! like execema.

Eczema (forgotten how to spell it!) isn't necessarily scaly. Dd, 17 months sometimes gets small red spots around her eyes and beneath her bottom lip on her chin and it's eczema. I have a v. light emollient cream called 'Cetraben' which seems to sort it out. It comes and goes. I've never associated it particularly with milk.

hermykne, I get this if I eat avocado or lot of raspberries so I think it's a food allergy. It is an ecezmaish sort of rash that is very sore. HTH

thanks CD and evita
put a smidgeon of cortizone crm on the leg and chest, which i spotted when she had a bath this morn, and the eye area seems to have calmed down. she scratched the skin raw in her sleep last night as she didnt wake me, so i presume it was in her sleep. tried to cut the nails !! nightmare got 3 done.

Yes, nails, I started a thread about that on behaviour / development. Dd hates having hers done. Seems lots of people do it when they're asleep!!!

Dd also gets sore, dry patches on her heels and fingers. I use hydrocortisone on those.
