3 out of 4 of my boys have nasty tummy cramps

DS3 has had it for a week now - GP says it's a bug which will pass through. When, when when? DS1 and DS2 started with it yesterday and dh and I seem to have it mildly. They are fine one minute then doubled up in agony the next. No sickness, no runs and no temp. Have had no sleep for 6 nights and we are going camping on Weds. Am starving them today, just water to drink. Anyone had LO with this recently. Calpol not helping with the pain either. So sad to see them with such sore tummies.

sorry to hear that tallmummy!
Thats a long time for a tummy bug, could you go for a 2nd opinion?
Hope they get well soon and you get a good sleep

I thought so too PFNM. Have taken him to GP twice and seen by nurse as well. They say it is high in the smaller intestine and will take longer to clear up. I was really worried at first but now the other 2 and we have it I'm thinking that it is probably some nasty bug and that he hasn't been poisoned by berries or something from the garden.
Just so horrible to see them all cramped up. In between they are fine. The calpol and nurofen don't really help. Not eating seems to be helping as they have all been cramp free for a good hour and a half.
Thanks for the sympathy it is much needed.

No leg pain, just a bit listless. Quite a lot of wind too - but no vomiting or runs. V.odd thing really.

I know I am going to blush at the end of this, but I have had bad wind in the past that has given me excrutiating stomach pains. Maybe that is it?

Sorry to hear about dd Aimsmum.

We had something like this a few weeks ago and it was the strangest illness i've ever had. I had griping pains for 2 days then felt ok on the third day but on the third night and the fourth morning I was actually sick. DD got it and she was sick every evening for about 4 nights, it made ds and mil have the runs and gave my dp chronic heartburn. It was truly bizarre.

We also have had something similar, both youngest girls had it for over a week each, no temperature, vomiting etc just doubling up with cramping pains intermittantly, bizarly (sp)both myself and dh had it too but oldest dd avoided it.
