Really sore throat/glands up just on one side?

For the last three days I've had a terrible sore throat (been awake all night as feels like I'm swallowing knives) around my tonsil area and swollen glands but just on the one side. Also chills, temp and aches and pains.

Worth going to the doc or is it likely to be viral?

Well it could be a virus or something else like tonsillitis, or a tooth abscess. If it's kept you awake you must go to the doctor.

Just so difficult to get an appointment you wonder if it's worth the bother!

I know what you mean.Take yourself of to an NHS walk in centre, there should be one close by. Good luck .
