A colleague noticed earlier that I was all puffy around my eyes. She thought I has been crying (which I hadn't). I felt a bit tight and uncomfortable around the top of my cheek bones near my eyes. We thought maybe it was an allergic reaction to something. Anyway, this evening I have an uncomfortable pressure feeling around my eye socket bones and across my nose. I am not stuffed up but don't feel great and have a hit of a headaches too. I have no time to be ill and major commitments this week that cannot be skipped! Any ideas what it is and what I can take?

Beconase nasal spray, off the shelf I think. I get sinusitis every time I get a cold, this allows me to carry on.

Is this sinusitis? I don't feel like I have a cold. Not stuffed up or anything.

It does sound like sinusitis - which isn't always the result of a cold and doesn't necessarily cause your nostrils to feel bunged up. It's basically an infection of the sinus cavities.

Take pain killers & over the counter sinus remedies & it should sort itself out. If it doesn't, or gets worse, you might need antibiotics (although most people don't).

Lots and lots of steam usually helps me a bit. Try that.

Get a really hot wet wash cloth, fold it, and hold over eyes.
