I have just frightened the life out of myself... can anyone explain this?

I'm sat here eating takeaway and I take a gulp of coke and it feels like it gets stuck in my chest and the pain gets worse (almost like cramp where it feels like it s building up) so I'm tensing and my eyes are shut and the next thing I feel really spaced out and like I may have passed out for a second though i'm say here precariously balancing the laptop and food on my lap which hasn't moved.

It really frightened me - can anyone explain it?

Yes! I've had that! It's like a big air bubble and is agony!

Just one of those things I think.

Yes I've had similar with fizzy drinks. Horrible excruciating pain quite briefly. Also had a cramp in my diaphragm once which made me think I was dying!

Yup I have had that and the dizzy spaced out feeling was because I was holding my breath
