I had it done on a Thursday, was back at work on the Monday. If it's keyhole, it's pretty minor.

I had mine done a couple of months ago. They didn't know if it would be keyhole or not until they got inside.

Luckily it was keyhole and I had 1 night in hospital because it was quite late in the day when they did it.

Didn't take long to recover and I have 6 lovely scars all over my tummy where they went in with cameras and hooks and whatever else.

I was in quite a lot of discomfort for about 10 days. Went back to work after 2 wks despite being signed off for 3. Everyone recovers differently I guess!

I had mine removed just over ten years ago and I wasn't even in hospital for a night. I had the keyhole surgery, I went in first thing in the morning and was out by tea time.

I had been waiting for the operation for three months and was not allowed to eat more than 3 grams of fat a day, which was very very hard and meant I had a diet that consisted of sweet and sour chicken ready meals and ice lollies. I did loose a lot of weight but I was so moody and tired as I had a 4 month old baby at the time.

I couldn't wait for the operation, it was simple and went well and I was back to normal, eating and working within a week.

Don't worry it will be fine and over before you know it and all the stories of things you can't eat afterwards are just stories, I have never had a problem with any food since.

I hope you don't stress to much and recover quickly, all the best :)
