We are undergoing huge organisational change at the moment at work, don't even feel as though I can cope with my current job let alone a new one. Totally stressed about this plus the work life balance, feel very guilty about leaving the children to work, house is a tip ironing and washing ridiculous. I am working in the night with palpitations can't get anything done at home as I feel too agitated and can't concentrate. Am wondering if anybody's got tips for stress manangement and would any herbal remedies help. Feel like I need valium at the moment. TIA.

poor you thats a lot to deal with. My ex boss always used to say "don't try to eat the elephant whole, make elephant sandwiches" when we had big messes to deal with and it does work.

Get a pad and paper and start boxing off things - so put house in one box, then write these headings: what is essential to do, what is good to do and what is a nice to do. Allocate tasks to the boxes. At the moment just try to do one thing from the essential section each day, no more than that. You'll be surprised how quickly things feel under control. Make sure you have one box with your name on it too - essential thing - sit for 10 mins with cup of tea and blank mind/have bath whatever. Even tho you're manic you need to create space for a pause.

hope that helps.

PEN and paper. Much more effective than a pad and paper (meowmix has moment of clarity)
