HELP dd screaming with earache

have given nurofen and calpol which don't seem to be working

If I call the doctor's out of hours service it will take all night

If I take her to A&E what can they do? Shall I just sit it out til morning and go to the gp?

When did you give the nurofen/calpol?

Has she had a cold lately?

Lying down often makes earache worse IME.

Poor thing - it's horrible

Give NHS Direct a ring - it might take a while but quicker than a trip to A&E.

Ring NHS Direct, how long ago did you give her the medicines?

Def get her seen tonight. Why will NHS Direct take all night?

I would get her seen to if you can. If you are going to be up all night with her it may as well be because you are getting her treated. Call out of hours doc or go to you nearest emergency docs/a&e.

Thanks all - her eardrum popped and she went to sleep immediately.

spoke to the Doc this am and she said that that is great and she won't need antibiotics. She did have a bad ear in Greece last week but it cleared up.
