I am such a klutz lately
last night ds1 called me from downstairs and i rushed up to him, he was asleep and talking in his sleep. So i quielty back out of the room and not looking where i was going missed the second stair The only thing i could think to do was put my arm out. Unfortunatley my arm went through the banister and twisted my elbow. I know its not broken as i can still move my fingers wrist etc... But i can't physically straightn my arm. It gets so far and then won't go any further. It is slightly swollen, but nothing drastic. But it i soooo achy and even painkillers aren't working does anyone have any idea? I really don't wan t to sit in a and e for nine hours to be told there is nothing wrong with it. Sorry for the whinge

Oh dear, personally I would go to A & E.

I broke the fingers in my left hand, years ago and I could still move my fingers.

Oh and it also hurt like buggery.............

fuzzywuzzy · 12/07/2006 19:08

you could haver possibly disconnected your elbow...

MerlinsBeard · 12/07/2006 19:26

Ds1 broke his arm right up near his shoulder at easter. He still had remarkable flexibility but he just couldn't raise his arm above his shoulder. If you can't straighten your arm, I would say you have done something worthy of A&E.

Well if pain killers dont cut the mustard I would make yourself comfy at A&E and have it looked at. It may still be broken. I have know folk walk on broken legs before now, it depends on the break. Check it out.

pepperpots I woould go, my friend bashed her elbow last year whilst we played netball. She couldnt straighten it but could move her fingers etc, she even drove home a bit of discomfort, it turned out she had smashed the bone in the elbow...

Please go to A and E it is better to be safe than sorry...
