My ds2, aged 2 has just had thrush. I went to a GP and he told me to leave it for 2 weeks. we came home that night and i really wasn't pleased and even posted on MN and i agreed with everyone that replied and told me to get a second opinion because ds kept pointing to his mouth and tongue saying "sore, sore". So I went back the next day to a different doctor who prescribed me some drops and I saw inprovements within two days it has gone completely now after a week.
I am not a GP but I don't think thrush just disappears it has to be treated (if you have had thrush down below its not comfortable and is not left to fester). It may feel sore to your dd but she cannot say. If you are not happy especially as you are going away, take her back to see someone else as I did or got to a chemist and see what they say. I agree with your HV
