I've just been told I have 3 dvts on Friday. I've been on fragmin treatment dose since Tuesday as I was awaiting the scan. I have one in my thigh and two behind my knee plus other clots in superficial veins I believe. It's a big shock as I only had symptoms of cramp on Sunday night and then pain Monday so saw my gp on Tuesday who referred me for a scan.
I had my 5th child just 3 weeks ago by c section too so I've been struggling with mobility as it is and now I'm back to square one with my leg pain and can't walk properly. My husband has had 8 dvts and also a pe so I have some experience but I'm really struggling with coming to terms with everything.
Does anyone know how long this leg pain will last as I have a 21 month old dd to care for as well as dd4 who is 3 weeks now. I'm also terrified of developing a pe even though I'm being treated.
I'm feeling anxious and very up and down about this. My pregnancy was high risk and a worry throughout as our daughter was stillborn at 37 weeks almost 3 years ago now. I had gestational diabetes and was on insulin 3 times a day from early on. I really need to get back to some kind of normality for the children and myself. Being stuck in the house is really getting me down.
Does anyone have any advice? I've decided to stay on injections rather than switch to warfarin as I'll find it easier with the eating and only need to go to hospital once a month rather than twice a week. I've cried more in the past week than I have in months! I'm anxious anyway so this has put my mind into overdrive.
