Protein in urine - can this just be due to period?

I've been really unwell for a week with terrible back pain which I just put down to lifting by DS - but it has now localised to my left side and abdomen, night sweats and got cracking headache. We have some urine stick sample thingies in house and I dipped urine - has come back high in protein. But - I also have period. Could raised protein just be due to period?? On my own with two small children so doctor appointments tricky - and really don't want to waste their time.

Blood in wee will give a positive protein dip.

So do you think just if ore for a few days and see if all gets better?

No, feeling ill, night sweats and pain are strong indicators for a UTI. If left could end up much worse with kidney infection. Def one for dr appt ASAP. If you've been unwell a week you've already waited and not got better.

More likely to be a uti.
