Stopping the Pill and return of periods - what is going on?

I recently stopped taking the combined pill (yasmin). 40 days later and I've still had no period. Usually when I come off the pill I get a period in 28 days or there abouts. A few days ago I had lots of PMS symptoms and bloating (forgot about that and how annoying it is!) Then I had kind of streaks of blood for 1 day and I thought my period was starting then it came to nothing.

Has anyone else experienced this after coming off the pill?

I don't think I can be pregnant. I am wondering if I should go the GP? I wasn't on this pill for a long time - maybe 3 years.

When I was wondering I had a quick look on the internet and read it can take up to six months to get back to normal. I also did three tests (neg) before my bfp which were false negs.

Hmm - it's always unsettling if your body does something different from usual. I feel sorry for people who this happens to who are ttc, especially for the first time. Seeing as I have kids already I am not looking to ttc but don't like not knowing what's going on with my body. Normally after stopping the pill I get a period right away.
