this happened when i was pregnant as well. it may not be an allerguic reaction but itsa very odd. my arm has gon all tingy. if i touch it its like i am sticking small pins into my arm and the tingly pain starts to radiate outwards, same for my leg.

anyone got any ideas? last time iwas giving hydrocortisone cream, but theres no rash or dry skin, and tbh the cream was usless.

misdee, I sometimes get that when I'm really tired or run down. Which lately is a constant factor with a 4.5 yo ds and a nearly 2 yo ds who only now is starting to semi sleep alright through the night... ya get the picture.

I think it's a circulation 'issue' (lack thereoff) and partially tensed up nerves in the shoulder/neck area. Well at least in my case. Do you happen to have low blood pressure at all?

I mainly get it in my arms and the end up feeling like during the stage when a limb has 'gone to sleep' and then wakes up, but a very severe case of pins & needles. So far have found no solution to it except for rest/sleep.

Not very helpful is it but at least you know you're not alone.

There's something called 'formication' (no, not fornication, that's something different and far more enjoyable) where you get a strange tingling sensation on your skin, like pins and needles but without the numbness. It's sometimes thought to be a response of certain nerves thinking thta they are being stimulated for some reason. I get it from time to time, and I find the best way to stop it is to drape a rough towel over the area and drag it up across the skin. I think the nerves get overwhelmed with genuine stimuli that way, and stop sending my brain rogue messages.
