chicken pox...still infectious?

dd 2 has had chicken pox for 8 days. the spots have crusted over, except those on her soles and palms, which have-strangely- gone white- but are still blisters. dyou think she is still infectious? her sis had one on her toe like this that took nearly 2 wks to go. We are desperate to go to the park but dont want to infect anyone!

No not infectious now.My dd2 was back at pre-school after a week.

I thought you were infectious until all spots had scabbed - i think the length of time it takes to get there depends on how bad the cp is and how many waves of spots you have. I think you could still be infectious if you still have blisters

thanks, its just wierd that they've gone solid and white so are neither scabs nor true blisters either. will be cautious all the same, tho.

sorry I can't give you a real answer or be of any more help - I didn't notice any spots like that when mine had it - did dd1's ever form a scab? maybe they aren't going to?
