periods so heavey that my mooncup leaks every half an hour, or 1 day a fortnight of deepest darkest pmt?

I ad a mirena coil fitted about 4 months ago, not had any problems with it and my horrendous periods stopped, I now have a 7 day period every 2 weeks but it is nothing and a vast improvement on the previous so happy. A couple of aweeks ago I had a horrible few days and convinced myself I was getting depression, couldnt stop cying having really dark thoughts, anyway then I came on my period and it stopped so i just thought yay it was pmt. Then last night I returned to a very dark place this morning suprise suprise there is my period.

I have had problems with depression and anxiety in the past and it is not a place I willingly want to retunr to, however I dont want my horrible periods back either.

Not sure what to do, does anyone know if periods just come back to normal when mirena coil is removed, and does the side effects go away?

I had the mirena in March. Was hopeful of the prospect of no more periods .... I have got depression and take medication for it.

I had pretty much constant spotting, abdominal pain, severe headaches, weight gain, boobs felt like rocks, no sex drive, the list just goes on. A couple of weeks ago I started having a lot of pain and bleeding, went to GP, she tried to persuade me to keep it. Went back, saw a different GP a couple of days later, told him what was going on, he removed it straight away. I also had an infection from it. On antibiotics now.

I didn't know what to expect - removal didn't really hurt, I felt so relieved to get it out. My mood has improved, boobs normal, waiting to see about the weight .... Had a period within two days of it being taken out. Overall I feel much better, but periods are back ...... It was only removed last week though....
