Terrible urgent diarreah lasting a month. Just pregnancy? or Colitis/Crohns back?

Posted in Pregnancy too but copying here:

I am 6 months pregnant. For the last month I've had increasingly bad, extremely urgent and watery diarreah. Day in, day out, I've not had a day 'off' yet.

I'm now up about 3 times in the night, maybe once in the mornings, then it's not too bad in the day and gets worse in the evenings again.

What concerns me is I have IBD (looks more like colitis than crohns but they never decided). Ive been in remission for 4 years and now I am TERRIFIED that this isn't pregnancy related, but is in fact a flare up. Did anyone have anything like this in pregnancy that doesn't have bowel problems normally?

And anyone with IBD is there anything they could do if it was a flare up or do i need to wait until after baby is born to take some drugs? I'm really scared!

Heidi - please speak to someone about your symptoms (your GP or obstetric team). I don't think it's a normal pregnancy symptom (much more common to get constipation) and it is possible your IBD may have flared up.

Good luck

Thanks. Went to gp this evening and they think the colitis is back. Had my head in the sand but now it's out! Pain in the bum...literally! Thanks for replying.
