Tips on getting rid of a very stubborn verruca?

I've had a verruca that's the size of a five pence piece, on the ball of my foot for about ten years now. I'm not exaggerating, I have tried everything to get rid of it. Bazooka and wartner didn't touch it, I went to a private chirpopodist about five years ago who tried to burn it off with some giant match stick type of things - that didn't work either, and I was left seriously out of pocket. I've tried duct tape, I've tried nail polish, I've tried tea tree oil and vitamins. None of them worked.

It's getting to the stage now where it hurts, if it didn't hurt I'd leave it be, but it does hurt and I've also now noticed that it looks like it starting to spread. I have two smaller ones on the same foot, and another one looks to be springing up on the other foot....

I would love to get rid of them all, I'm ashamed of my feet. I'd never go to a beauty salon and get a pedicure because the soles of my feet are so disgusting. I can't understand why nothing is working?

What else can I try?

I was in exactly the same situation as you! I had a massive one on the ball of my foot for 10 years+ and had tried absolutely everything. Then I started getting loads of smaller ones on both feet. I was fed up of going to the doctor and nothing they did helping. I tried Warner and a dry skin scrubbing brush by Scholl every time I had a bath and a couple of months later I realised it had gone. I don't know if it was the warner, or if it just went away by itself. I actually think the dry skin thing as well as the warner made a huge difference. The little ones are still there but the big one is completely gone. Then again, I only put Warner on the big one.

Maybe try both and see what happens. But I kept reading that in a lot of cases they just go away by themselves.

*wartner not warner

I have one on the ball of my foot too. I think it has been there at least 15 years.

Not painful particularly - but I know it's there.

I think will try the duct tape - see what happens.

They are awful things.

DS did a couple of sailing weekends a while back, and his verrucas just fell out after two days of being wet from head to toe.

I tried everything to get rid of mine, had a mosaic one all across the ball of one foot and down the side and heel of the other, they were awful and hurt when I walked. Nothing worked. Had them about 12 years then all of a sudden within about three weeks they all disappeared, every single one and have never had them since! I know they're a bugger but be patient and they will go one day.

Hi,my sons just got rid of his verruca in just over a week using swan vesta matches( pink tips ) simply dip them in warm water and smear the tip of the match over the infected area till covered in the pink sulphur,I did my little lads for a week n half and now it's gone,I'd originally tried products from chemists and this did the trick for the price of a box of matches

Tincture of thuja - apply to your foot . Also you can add to water and drink it!. It worked on my son when he was tiny and he was covered in warts.

I know it’s an old thread but thought I would give a random but great way to get rid...can work on warts also...my partners grandad swore by Dandelion’s! I laughed when I heard that but gave it a try on my sons verruca...after a 1 week of dabbing the milk in the stem of the dandelion directly on it, his verruca turned black and dropped off....I was amazed before this I tried everything and nothing else worked...give it a go and let me know if it worked for you also...I know it works on a wart aswell as his grandad suffered from them and this was how he removed them...the old man was a wise one ☺️

My Mum had a verucca on sole of foot for many years, that was treated in boarding school but not completely gone - she had to pare away dead skin regularly to keep it comfy. When she was soaking her feet daily in bucket of her own stored pee, for other health reasons, after some weeks noticed the verucca & scar-tissue was gone!!
I have a very small verucca which I thought was a callous, for about 2years now, growing slowly, just at base underneath of left little toe.. Foot specialist lady suggested cream that has urea in it - I'd rather use my own, & also recalled situ with my Mum (11 years ago) & will try it myself.
A great book about Urine Therapy : Your Own Perfect Medicine by Martha M. Christy. Also The Golden Fountain, Complete Guide to Urine Therapy by Coen van der Kroon
