I know its been hot and fuid intake increases but I think this is something more.

She is demanding a drink constantly, and guzzles each one down, at a guess at least 7 -8 pinta day, now am I right in thinking if she was drinking all this extra purely because of the heat, then she would sweat most of it out, because she seems to be just peeing it out, and it seems to go through her very very quickly, for eg, I put her down for a nap with a fresh nappy on, when she woke 90 mins later, she and the bed were soaked through.

I don't want to alarm you but drinking loads and weeing loads can be a symptom of diabetes, Is he/she sleepy or unwell in themsleves - if so then I would call the out of hours GP if not then call GP in the morning. They will need a wee sample to see if there is sugar in it which can be done there and then usually

Think I had better get her checked out then, she screeches for a drink, and as soon as she knows I am fetching one, she jumps up and down and is so exited..............over a cup of water.

hi i would really nag the dr about this as dd was the same and they kept telling me it was a habit eventually she had some tests done and she has something called diabetes insipidus - the name is confusing as it has nothing to do with diabetes and insulin
