Ds3 (2.8) was diagnosed with a measles type virus by the GP yesterday.I was telling MIL about it tonight and listing his symptoms and she stopped me and said "That sounds more like scarletina to me"
Had a quick google(as you do) and the poor soul is a text book case, right down to his 'strawberry tongue'.
So back to the drs tomorrow for antibiotics I suppose. No wonder he's been so crotchety!
Anyone have any experience of this,I've never come across it before.

Yes, 2 of my DSs had scarletina. DS1 got overall eczema for a while after it went. Both got antibiotics.

Can I ask how long it lasted for Mears?

The scarletina itself didn't last long. They improved once they had antibiotics for 2-3 days. Rash faded over the week. DS1's skin took a couple of months to get over the eczema. Ended up needing steroid cream. DS2 didn't get that though. How is your DS£?
