Has anyone had this season's flu jab and been ok afterwards??

It's never given me any problems before, not even the slightest effect. But the thing is that in 2 weeks time i'm having a big operation and don't want to do anything to jeopardize that!

But on the other hand the last thing I want is flu when i'm recuperating!!!

I've had it and was absolutely fine other than a slightly sore arm.

PoppyScarer · 21/10/2013 21:55

Didn't even notice the sore arm this time, TBH!

drinkyourmilk · 21/10/2013 21:55

I was fine. Just a sore arm for a couple of days . Fwiw the jab cannot give you flu. At least that's what it says on the NHS website.

TwentiethCenturyGirl · 21/10/2013 21:55

Me. Sore arm for a couple of days but no other problems.

Racers · 21/10/2013 21:55

I was fine too this year

Shallishanti · 21/10/2013 21:58

same here, sore arm, thats all
good luck!

BasketzatDawn · 21/10/2013 21:59

Yes, I was fine. No sore arm either. in theory you can't get flu from the vaccine - if you get it you were getting it anyway.

ApplesinmyPocket · 21/10/2013 22:01

I was fine. Slightly sore arm. That was it.

Hope your operation goes OK Paddy .

timetosmile · 21/10/2013 22:02

I was fine too apart from a slightly sore arm for a couple of days..seems like 2013 is a good vintage!

RevelsRoulette · 21/10/2013 22:03

ive had my usual egg shaped aching lump but no illness at all.

littlecloud · 21/10/2013 22:04

I was ill! Felt like crap for a week. May have no correlate to jab though? But I was the only person in my household that was ill at that time.

GirlsonFilm · 21/10/2013 22:05

I work in a practice that has given 2000+ flu jabs so far this year. No adverse effects reported. Good luck for the op.

paddyclampo · 21/10/2013 22:52

Thanks for that, that's very reassuring :) Think I'll go ahead and get it done tomorrow.

Honestly I was the same as you...very worried about the side effects.
Had the flu jab on Saturday as im pregnant. My arm was a bit tender Saturday evening but apart from that, im absolutely fine!

digerd · 22/10/2013 07:56

Waiting to hear from GP about mine. Think I'd better phone today.
Last year I had pain in my arm down to the elbows for months.

littleomar · 22/10/2013 08:05

Fine (felt really rough after the other time I had it, 2009).

sleeplessbunny · 22/10/2013 08:06

I was fine except for the sore arm. DD had the nasal spray one and she was fine too (I presume it's the same strain)

digerd · 22/10/2013 13:06

Having mine on Thursday afternoon.

BlueChampagne · 22/10/2013 14:13

Absolutely no ill effects for me.
