Are you on Citalopram and do you suffer migraines?

If so, would you mind telling me what migraine medication you take?

I have suffered migraines for years and ibuprofen, paracetamol and codeine do not work once I have a migraine attack.

What can I ask my Gp for that will not interact with the Citalopram?

Thanks Smile

i used to be prescribed migraleve alongside citalopram, but i'm fairly sure that's just paracetamol and codeine? although possibly higher dose?

I was on citalopram & maxaalt for migraines.

I take naproxen. It has worked better than any other migraine med.

Thanks for the replies. Have tried migraleve - May as we'll be popping sugar pills.

Can't take NSAIDs so ibuprofen, naproxen etc out. Saw the Gp Friday evening and she has referred me to neurology. Can't have any of the triptans as they interact with the citalopram.

Was on topiramate for a while which helped greatly but different Gp took me off them as they shouldn't have been prescribed by a Gp.

So will have to just get on with it until I see a specialist.

Thanks again Smile
