I don't know who to ask for help, please is there anyone who can advise me? Nearly 3 weeks of non stop bleeding (not a period!)

Hello all, I really need some advise..I feel so ill because of the blood loss. I went to a doctor and she said 'hormones' come back after the weekend if it hasn't stopped. I went back and see another doctor who said its 'anaemia' and that I need a blood test to check my lvls. I'm sorry, but I do not understand....how does it cause bleeding? How can they leave me with just wait for a blood test....no swabs to check infection, no scan no nothing! This is heavy bleeding non stop and considering 2 weeks before that I had my 7 day period!

No I haven't. Surely I can be pregnant? I have some tests so I can take one anyway and confirm I'm not x

It's important to rule it out. How old are you?

Tested negative. I am 22 years old, have got one child and also never ever experienced bleeding before other then a period and that's 28 day cycle

Have you had your blood test? What is the plan for follow up with your GP?

If you are concerned about infection, you don't have to wait for your GP to do swabs, just go to any sexual health clinic and they can do them there.

But that's to test to see if I'm anaemic, but there's nothing that states anaemia causes bleeding? I've had it a few times before and it's never caused bleeding

No the anaemia would be as a result of the heavy bleeding, not vice versa. The body can tolerate a lot of blood loss, but if you have symptoms of anaemia (dizziness, shortness of breath, chest pain, palpitations), I would go back to your GP sooner.

I think you are right to want to exclude infections. The other big common cause would be a change in contraception but I imagine you would have mentioned that in your OP!

My point exactly! I tried telling the doctor this...so now I'm waiting till Monday, for a blood test to revile if I have it? But how the heck is that telling me what's causing the blood loss. I've moved recently so they are new to me, I may change doctors..I feel like they are not helping me get to the problem at all. She literally said to me 'yeah I recon anaemia is causing your bleeding'

I really think you should push for smear test if you've never had one or at least a scan, don't let them fob you off. Hope you get it sorted soon op

If you are still bleeding badly either ring health direct or whatever it's called in the UK or go to A & E. You really need to be checked. It's not right it's gone on so long & not a period.

Spoke to the suregry again and they won't let me see a nurse, they said it's for a doctor to check and I said well do doctors there do swabs and she said no. Well then wtf is it going to solve! Going to look at other doctors in the area to be honest, this is ridiculous. Will let you know how I get on
