Threadworms - eeek

DD has bloody threadworm. Grrr

A few questions:

Is it normal for them to accompany a mild tummy ache?
Can the child still go in a paddling pool
Can you get the treatment at chemist or is it a prescription only job?

Just go to the chemist.
Dunno about tummy ache.
Normal life can carry on.

My kids got dosed yesterday - must be threadworm season

Get an equivalent of Ovex from Boots, no prescription - they will sell you a cheaper generic version of the branded product.

Get a family pack, dose everyone, and buy a second pack to keep at home so you can react fast next time to "mum, my bottom's itching!"

It won't be the last time they occur!
Wash pyjamas immediately but otherwise carry on as usual - there will be more advice on the leaflet with the treatment! Paddling pools no problem.

Ask chemist re tummy ache although I think a mild tummy ache wouldn't be abnormal.

hi there's a link here that's useful - also recommends hard core cleaning. I have been changing all our sheets daily this week which is an unbelievable pita but I'm determined to get rid of them
