Can anyone give me advice regarding a breast lump :(

I have had left breast pain for a couple of weeks and having had it checked at the doctors she discovered a lump.
Now have a breast clinic appointment but keep getting all sorts of aches and pains in that vicinity although my breast is feeling much less painful.

Concerned that pain and a lump can only be bad news. Also due to fly abroad in a couple of weeks, is this going to be possible if something is wrong?

I have lumps. They got investigated and i was eventually told they were nothing to worry about. Just take it one step at a time. Until someone tells you otherwise, try to take it in your stride. As to travel, no point in thinking about it now. Wait till you know me. I went away whilst I was waiting for my results. Good luck.

I've had this lump and pain sometimes worse than other times. Was told it was benign. Appointment at clinic was quick - within the week and they were really good. Hope it's the same for you. While I was at the breast clinic it seemed that none of us had any worrying lumps but all felt we were treated seriously.

The fear of the unknown is the worst part at the moment and my appointment is next week which seems ages away

Hi Imnotme. If it helps, only 1 in every 10 breast lumps is cancer.
Even if it is cancer, only 1 in 10 cancer lumps are the really rudely behaved sort that can't be treated successfully. Modern potions are not fun but they work.
So, the odds of it being anything eyebrow-raising are about 1 in 100 at the moment.

And even if it is that 1 in 100 eyebrow-raising sort, the modern treatments can often turn it into a long term nuisance rather than anything worse.

My dh is in bits already so can't imagine how he will be with any bad news.
