Should I go and get it seen to tomorrow if it's no better?

I had my hand on the frame if the back door while I was standing at the drivers door DD slammed it shut, it wasn't my fingers but the back/palm of my hand. I took my rings off because it swelled (swoll?Hmm) up immediately, the back of my hand isnt sore but the palm and up my arm are really sore

It's totally my fault. I was giving the car a hug before it went for MOT Blush..

Can you go to a minor injuries unit that does X-rays? Sounds like its what you need if no better in the morning or the swelling gets worse.

Viviennemary · 03/10/2013 21:26

This happened to me. Must have been nearly 20 years ago. I still remember the pain now. I didn't have an x-ray. A nurse I knew said she didn't think it was broken. It wasn't and healed quite quickly considering. But if you're not sure get it x-rayed. And take some pain killers. Hope you feel better soon.

Yes there is a minor injuries down the road. I'm a bit worried as I wear my Grans wedding ring and I can't remove it usually, it's on the swollen finger and is really tight.
I'll see how it is in the morning. I'm not telling how I did it though Grin.

Oh that pain is shocking, isn't it? The world almost goes black..I would put ice on your injury and take some pain relief. If the pain or selling increase best off to A&E

cocoleBOO · 03/10/2013 21:36

I actually cried, I usually have a high pain threshold. Poor DD felt awful but it wasn't her fault.

I iced it and rubbed in perscription pain relief gel, hopefully it will settle down overnight.

I hope you are able to get some rest. Don't be surprised if your hand looks like a purple and red balloon in the morning. Those types of injuries seem to enjoy bubbling away overnight Flowers

Thank you, the palm is looking a nice shade of black but the back isn't too badly bruised Confused I thought it would be worse, it took the brunt of the bang.
