I have had it nearly 5 years and have an appointment at the beginning of november to have it replaced. After being period free for the last 4 and a half years I seem to be having an increasing amount of 'spotting' and a few cramps too.

Does this mean my risk of getting pregnant is increased? I don't want any more dc, but I also don't want to get it swapped early if I don't have to.

wwyd?

Would have thought you'd be ok until November. The hormone part has probably run very low which would explain the spotting but that's not the only way it works. The actual coil part is also an effective contraceptive so whilst the spotting is annoying,I think the risk of pregnancy is very low.

That is reassuring Thanks
