Hope he doesn't find out I'm posting here or he'll be mortified!

When is it time to do something when foreskin is very tight? It has always been like this and the doc suggested we wait until puberty to see if it improved with (ahem) growth. It hasn't (not that I have checked), I am going on word of aforementioned teenager.

Is circumcision the only option?

Thanks for any help - not sure if I should have posted in teenagers or here...

My son had this problem aged 3. He had infections so went into hospital for an op. they just stretched it under GA, as ther were adhesions. No problems since.
I guess it depends on the severity as to what they would do.
GP is the first port of call.

My 14yo DS recently told me he had this issue.

After a bit of persuasion I got him to the GP last week (I waited outside!)

Doc had a look and a 'stretch' and has prescribed some cream 1% hydrocortisone and 1% something else. Has to put on four times daily for next 6 weeks and then go back.

No idea what the cream is meant to do as I didn't speak to GP myself but have told DS that as hydrocortisone is a type of steroid he may see some 'big' changes - ploy to get him to actually use the stuff but it seemed to have an effect as he got out of the car with very broad shoulders and assures me he is using the cream Wink

He accepts that circumcision might be necessary and isn't too keen but I'll cross that bridge if and when we get to it!!!
