Anyone used a Hypnotist/Hypnotherapist to reduce drinking?

Just that, really.

Am currently on medication which seems to interact with alcohol- partly by increasing my desire to drink. I do really like a glass of wine of an evening, but have trouble stopping there. I remember reading an article a few years back where a hypnotist was able to reproduce the pleasant effects of a drink for the subject when they drank a particular chosen soft drink- and they were able to just 'park' at that level of merriness, too.

TIA!

Bump! Would love to know about this too.......

Sounds like a great idea. Liked the freudian slip in the title Grin

Ha! It probably was... Blush

Ach, well. May try looking into it elsewhere, then, and will report back if I find out anything interesting. Didn't fancy just ringing some random Hypnotherapist and getting talked into expensive (but maybe useless) treatment. No-one has ever succeeded in hypnotising me, so I'd have to know they were good, for a start.

(Plus, can't help thinking that it sounds too good to be true?)

Hey, ho. Cheers! Wine

Whereabouts are you? I know of a good one in York, Rob Williams. I used to work for an Alcohol Advice team in North Yorks and they send people to him, he's meant to be very good.

Scotland- but we have family not a million miles away from there, so might look at him anyhow. Good to know that it isn't completely bonkers, however- thanks for that! Smile

Let me know if you can't find his details and I'll get them for you Smile
