Severe pain in left hand side mid cycle and when I come on???

Any idea?

Am doubled up in pain. Sometimes pain is so bad I can barely breathe/talk.

I am thinking possibly ovarian cysts or similar.

Quite worried incase it could be more sinister.

Only ever on left and has been happening about 4 years but getting worse

You just never know with stomach pains if it is your bowels or ovaries do you?

Thats true, you can never tell exactly where the pain is coming from, after 4 years of suffering though, its definately time for a visit to the docs

This could be something called 'mittelschmertz' (which I think is german for 'mid cycle!!??) and it is caused by the egg leaving the ovary.
I get it, also only on the left, and it also seems worse when my period starts. But your pain sounds pretty severe so I would get checked out. Is the pain in your back or stomach? If it is in back/side it could also be caused by your kidneys, so looks like a trip to the doc is worthwhile.
If it has been going on for 4 years it is unlikely to be sinister as you would knows all about it by now.

I get this - it is when I ovulate - the pain is so bad because I have ovarian cysts. You may have cysts on your left side. A scan would show this for you.
